Mark Peters has over 25 years experience working in VAT. Initially a visiting officer with H M Customs & Excise, he then spent 14 years with ‘Big 4’ accounting firms in London, Reading and Exeter working mainly with large corporate clients, a number of whom continue to retain his services.
Prior to creating Mark Peters VAT Associates in 2014, he spent 8 years with a regional accountancy practice, in a dual role advising a range of small and medium sized enterprises on their VAT affairs, whilst also supporting the start up of the firm’s Exeter office.
His experiences working with these uniquely different organisations have provided Mark with a deep understanding not just of the ‘technical’ VAT issues facing businesses, but also the commercial context in which those issues typically arise.
Mark regularly contributes technical articles to the publications of the professional firms he advises, and has even been known to make the national press on occasion!
Away from VAT, and when family commitments allow, Mark’s interests include wreck diving, golf, and the weekly torture session known to middle aged men as veterans five-a-side football.
Mark brings ‘Big 4’ knowledge and experience but with a level of client care second to none.
